Friday March 8th, we are bringing back one of Canada's Legendary Tribute Acts that will literally dwarf the Linsmore Tavern's stage with their incredible stage presence! Pretzel Logic - Steely Dan Tribute will be back performing at the Linsmore Tavern where they have only played SOLD-OUT shows! We are so excited to bring in this incredible 10 piece band with some world-class musicians again, but this time the seats will be much more limited than last time as we will not let in as many people! Pretzel Logic is 10 musicians dedicated to playing those lavish chords, those sexy grooves and singing those unmatched lyrics that comprise the music of Steely Dan.
Peter Graham; Saxophone & Vocals
Played with Motown artist Martha Reeves. Performed with David Foster and Arthur Brown. Acted in scenes with Harrison Ford, Denzel Washington and Liam Neeson. Toured with Second City Comedy troupe. Currently also with 80's band, Materialmen.
Bob McAlpine; Guitar
Has performed with such diverse artists as Mary Wilson, Martha Reeves, David Clayton-Thomas, Gowan, Rik Emmett, Roger Whittaker, the Canadian Idol House Band & Joan Rivers. Theatre experience includes We Will Rock You, Hairspray & Hair. Plays on numerous CD's, TV shows & jingles & has written guitar columns for Canadian Musician magazine.
Michael Shotton; Vocals
Born in the UK, Mike Shotton has recorded with the likes of Boston, Guns & Roses, Triumph, Rik Emmett, the Spoons and his own group Von Groove. Currently Michael tours with the Jeans n' Classics Co. as a feature tenor vocalist with every major orchestra across North America singing the likes of Queen, Zeppelin, U-2 and the Eagles.
Tim Johns; Guitar
Played in Duke Ellington arranger, Ron Collier's A-Band at Humber College. Currently plays with bands the Meteors and Nightfly. In his over 30 years experience has backed up Steve Winwood, Jim Cuddy and Tom Cochrane and opened for Rob Thomas.
Turner King; Saxophones
Turner King has freelanced with The Temptations, the Four Tops, Frank Sinatra Jr., Deep Purple, Franki Valli, Johnny Mathis, Gene Pitney, Eddie Floyd, Gladys Knight, Little Anthony and the Imperials, Del Shannon, Jerry Lewis to name a few. He and the Chris Smith Band have currently released a single on American smooth jazz radio.
Dave Johns; Bass
Played with well-known Toronto R&B band, the Meteors, for over 20 years. Currently teaches and also freelances in a wide variety of bands. A founding member of both the 905 Band and Pretzel Logic.
Paul DeLong; Drums
Juno award winner has had multi-platinum success with Kim Mitchell. Career encompasses funk, fusion, jazz and Latin working with diverse artists like Tom Scott, Dominic Troiano, Colm Wilkinson and David Clayton Thomas. Performed at PIT and NAMM shows in LA. One of Sabian Cymbals most popular clinicians.
Don Baird; Keyboards (alternates with Grant Slater)
Former musical director for Second City. Performed on keys and guitar in productions of The Lion King, Tommy and Rent. Played with George Olliver, Billy Newton Davis and Triumph. Backed up Jr. Walker, the Drifters and Little Anthony. Awarded "Innovator of the Year" at Humber College for creating the MIDI and music production course.
Grant Slater; Keyboards (alternates with Don Baird)
Juno award winner has accompanied Etta James, Petula Clark, Colm Wilkinson, Natalie MacMaster, A Foot in Cold Water, David Clayton Thomas, Long John Baldry, Carol Welsman and Sharon, Lois and Bram. Grant has also performed in theatre productions of Hairspray and The Rocky Horror Show.
Dominique Roy; Vocalist
Dominique Roy is an accomplished singer, dancer and actress from Montreal who has studied there and in New York and Toronto. She has performed on Broadway in Rent; in Stratford with Jesus Christ, Super Star; and in Toronto in Dirty Dancing and on various shows on the CBC.
Paul Mitchell; Trumpet and Fluglehorn
Has toured throughout the US and Canada. A featured artist with the London and Kitchener-Waterloo Symphonies. A regular with the Dave Murphy Band, he's also played with the Nomads, Sensation and Ascension. Musical credits include A Tribute to the Rat Pack and Vegas Nights.
