Saturday June 8th is going to be an incredible night of music, especially for fans of the English post punk era of music as the Linsmore Tavern (1298 Danforth Ave) welcomes back for the very first time in 2019, Mr. Pharmacist who will play The Fall! Mr. Pharmacist one of our favourite bands will be returning again to play 2 sets of the music of Mark E. Smith's The Fall and along with them will be one of our favourite Indie Acts, Goldenballs!
Mr. Pharmacist guys are absolute MONSTERS and put on one helluva a show to a capacity crowd every time they play the Linsmore Tavern. The Fall are an English post-punk band, formed in 1976 in Prestwich, Greater Manchester. With an ever-changing line up, the Fall essentially consists of founder and only constant member, Mark E. Smith, who has quipped, "If it's me and your granny on bongos, then it's The Fall!! The Fall have a huge Cult following, as does Mr. Pharmacist themselves, which is evident every time Mr. Pharmacist plays the Linsmore Tavern and it's at capacity!
Goldenballs might be the last rock n' roll band standing. Two to three chords, feedback, and a general lack of sensitivity in lyrics. Based in Toronto, Goldenballs plays rock n roll. The Band features members: Duncan McRae - Guitar / vocals, Scott Megginson - Bass, Ian "Loaf" Woodward - Guitar, Paul Mitchell - Bass, Matt Webster - Drums
Tickets for this show are $8 in advance, $10 at the door! You can buy tickets at the bar or online at www.linsmoretavern.com
