Motown Records was founded by Berry Gordy Jr in Detroit Michigan and incorporated in 1960.  In the 1960's Motown were the most successful proponents of what came to be known as the Motown Sound, a style of soul music with a distinct pop influence!  From 1961 to 1971, Motown had 110 top 10 hits. Top artists on the Motown label during that period included Diana Ross & the Supremesthe Four Tops, and the Jackson 5, while Stevie WonderMarvin Gayethe Marvelettesthe Miracles, The Temptations, and Gladys Knight & The Pipps.  Kindred Spirits will be performing songs by many of these artists on this night, as well as other 60's Soul standouts!

With band members hailing from Montreal to Memphis, Kindred Spirits ignite a deep, gritty groove that dares listeners not to move. Their performances combine ingenious musicianship with infectious melodies to tap into the soul of the listener. As a testament to their individual talent, they have shared stages with such artists as Al Green, Ray Charles, SOS Band, Atlantic Starr, The 4 Tops, Lionel Ritchie, Foreigner, Amanda Marshall, and Chaka Khan, just to keep the list short. With that said, Kindred Spirits offer an escape into the funky sublime, sharing the true spirit that is Funk, Soul and R&B.
