A Book For Wanderers Live at the Linsmore Tavern!

Thursday October 15, The Linsmore Tavern is excited to welcome for the first time the very talented original act, A Book For Wanderers!  If you are looking for the next big thing out of Canada, come check out this band as they have quite a buzz circulating around them!

A Book For Wanderers is a solo project started by Niagara Region based artist Anthony Botting, in early 2013. The project proves to lend itself well to both acoustic and full band performances. Throughout his musical career, Anthony Botting has been the driving engine and front man for many full roster rock bands. Botting’s musical style effectively melds swaying acoustic melodies with heavier riffs and pounding beats, establishing a symbiotic relationship between two, traditionally opposed styles, to create uniquely moving music. A Book For Wanderers received Album of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year at the 2013 Niagara Music Awards. Botting began his musical pursuits at the young age of 13 and has been writing and performing ever since. The Song “ECHOES” was featured in the Jason Lupish movie “A Kind of Wonderful Thing”. A Book For Wanderers’ new album is called Wide Streets Of The Narrow Minded and was released on JUNE 9th 2015. His musical style has evolved over the years, producing the array of songs presented on this recent album.

This is going to be a real fun night of original music by an amazing original artist! Come out and hear the music of both albums of A Book For Wanderers!  The show starts at 9pm!  There is no cover!

Eleanor Shore was founded in the fall of 2013. The band name had been a great debate among many, but after a rather odd dream, it was decided that Eleanor Shore was it. The musical styling of Eric, Ehren, Connor and Sean is reminiscent of folk artists of the past. Their unique sense of style and multi talented musicianship will hopefully entertain you. Heavily influenced by Simon and Garfunkel, Frank Sinatra, Mumford and Sons, Bon Iver, Bright Eyes, Eleanor Shore has a sound that can be described as Acoustic Folk/Alternative.  Eleanor Shore is made up of Ehren Kassam, Eric Osborne, Connor DuPont and Sean McAlister.

Northern Roads played at the Linsmore earlier this summer and received a great amount of requests to bring them back and that's exactly what we are doing!  Northern Roads is an Alternative Folk Band from Scarborough, Ontario, Canada. Formed in 2013, the band consists of long-time friends Connor Allen (Lead Vocal), Mitch McCartney (Guitar, Vocals), Rob Almeida (Guitar, Vocals), and Matt McCartney (Percussion, Guitar, Vocals). The band’s sound has been influenced by Mumford & Sons and The Lumineers. Northern Roads released their first EP "Take Your Time" in 2014 and have been on the road to success ever since. Highlights include: Selected to perform at Boots and Hearts 2014 - Showcased with Canada's most respected vocal coach Elaine Overholt at the CMAO Road to Independence Conference - Offer to perform at Adrian College in U.S.A. with Easton Corbin in 2015 - Selected to play at Canada's largest new music festival, Canadian Music Week 2015.

He is also the touring guitar player for Ron Sexsmith!  The quality of music that you hear when his band plays is top-notch and you will not get bored with the songs that they play, because they are fun and unique!  The show starts at 9:30pm and there is a $5 cover at the door! If you haven't seen them before, you absolutely have to!

Aside from being an extremely versatile and tasteful guitarist, Tim Bovaconti (or The Bover) has also shown himself to be an excellent pop songwriter with a great ear for melody and hooks.  I’m looking very much forward to the new disc. - RON SEXSMITH

I have worked with Tim Bovaconti regularly for about four years now and have always found him to be a professional of the highest degree. What impresses me most about him is his vast knowledge of music that came long before his time.  I myself am somewhat of a music historian and archivist and it’s not often that I meet someone else who knows of so many of the rare and sought after tracks. Tim is a musician’s musician. He can play many different styles of music, which attests to how much listening and absorbing he has done. He also did a stellar job on my last album “Above The Ground”.  His innovative solos breathed tremendous new life into many of my songs.  Bovaconti is a true professional. -BURTON CUMMINS
