Tuesday night, the Linsmore Tavern's (1298 Danforth Ave) Indie Night returns with 2 brand new original bands ready to bring you some amazing music! This Tuesday September 22nd is going to be incredible, as  two great rock bands Social Hysteria and Mike Bennett! Brought to you be Amsterdam Breweries, we have some great sponsors on board for this show including IndieCan Radio (SiriusXM), Canada Media Rocks, Steve's Music, and MegaMusic Canada. Social Hysteria is a new project that is a product of three other bands, Flower Mind, Cold September and Daysleeper. Flower Mind (1995 - 2001) had some success in Europe. Played several major festivals in Portugal with bands and artists such as Bryan Adams (Canada), 10,000 Maniacs (USA), Spin Doctors (USA), Jene Loves Jezebel (UK), Mao Morta (Portugal), SIlence 4 (Portugal). They were voted one of the top 10 new rock bands in Portugal in 2000 by the respected music magazine PROMUSICA. The band dismembers due to one of the band members returning to University. Cold September starts in 2002 with some of the remaining elements from Flower Mind. George now leaves the drum kit and is now on guitar and vocals, being now the only songwriter. The band had immediate success with their self titled EP, played at the Termometro Unplugged Festival in Oporto (Portugal) and appeared on the TV channel SIC RADICAL with a live performance and an interview. Cold September dismember, due to George returning to University. George and Alex move back to Canada. George records several demos in his basement studio on his own and decides its time to put a band together, calls experienced drummer Cliff, Alex joins on the bass and Daysleeper was formed. They have been playing shows in the Toronto and Hamilton area and in Portugal. After several drummers (no Spinal Tap influences) they get Malcolm Obery to sit behind the kit, and the name is changed to Social Hysteria, until someone decides to sue for legal rights over that name. In 2015 Chad Savage joined on guitar, and is sharing his guitar skills with the boys.

Message In A Bottle: Tribute To The Police Back for 80'S Month!

80's month is back at the Linsmore Tavern and so is one of Canada's best Tribute Bands, Message In A Bottle - Tribute To The Police this Saturday September 19 at 9:30pm! Their last show in January of this year was a huge success and got rave reviews! So now they are back and ready to put on another memorable show!

Message In A Bottle, Formed as a hobby band in 2011 by three self confessed Police geeks; MIAB has since become a must see for any Police fan. Keeping things real by using the base format used by the original band members when they reformed in 2007: Drums, bass & guitar with minimal effects & no tracks. Dave La Fame (bass & vox) sounds so much like Sting, close your eyes & you're challenged to hear the difference. Precisely replicating the drum sounds & feel is Neil La Fortune. Rounding out the trio & filling all the holes in between with the jazzy, ghost-in-the-machine textures creative subtleties is guitar aficionado Gordon Deppe founder and guitarist of the Spoons.  MIAB have been pleasantly surprised to discover how many others still have such affection for the rock-reggae sounds that dominated radio airwaves in the early 80s to make The Police one of musics all time best selling artists. This has allowed the group to travel & play throughout Canada & the USA. Plus a memorable performance in Bermuda.

Really take advantage of this opportunity to see this band, as they don't play a lot of show together and this could be possibly there last show of the year! The talent that this trio possess is mind-blowing!! Tickets are $5 in advance and $10 at the door! You can purchase your tickets at the bar or right here: BUY TICKETS!!
