Friday December 4th, the Linsmore Tavern (1298 Danforth Ave) is so excited to welcome for the very first time for a real party, Ear Candy! You might have seen or heard of Ear Candy as they have been the official party band for the Blue Jays for the past 5 years!
Based out of Toronto and rooted in the Maritimes, EAR CANDY is an exciting Party Rock cover band known for their energetic and note-for-note take of timeless hook-laden classics and recent chart toppers. Their good nature, humour and energetic performances keep Ear Candy in-demand for high profile and notable live shows and events. A favourite for entertaining sporting events such as Toronto Blue Jay fan events (since 2011), NASCAR, bars, pubs, private, corporate party's and more - Ear Candy turns up the tunes and cranks out the fun, energizing the crowd and charging up the atmosphere with familiar music for a truly memorable time.
The group formed in the spring of 2006 to meet the resurging demand for great live music. Whether it’s Classic Rock, Retro 80’s Pop/Rock, 90’s Rock or today’s hits, Ear Candy has all the bases covered!
Ear Candy configures their high-energy set list to get the crowd on the dance floor and shaking their assets. This Thursday night the Linsmore Tavern is excited to bring in two incredible indie, rock acts that are ready to tear down the house this Thursday night! The Mighty Big Word is opening the show at 9pm, followed by the returning Goldenballs who played earlier this year on Indie Tuesdays and absolutely killed it! Goldenballs will headline this night and will hit the stage around 10:30pm!
Formed in 2008, Mighty Big Word represents the latest in a long line of musical undertakings over the 25 year songwriting partnership of Jeremy Fisher and Todd Tolls. Hailing originally from Kingston, ON, the pair began to make a name for themselves as buskers before finally forming their first group Uncle Remus in 1993. After six years of near-constant gigging and two successful indie releases, "Big Jon" and "Buffalo Grass", the group split and the new millennium found Todd and Jeremy settled in their adopted home of Toronto, ON. The ensuing years saw the beginnings of many short-lived bands and musical projects with a revolving door cast of local luminaries, before finally coalescing around the core that is Mighty Big Word. With a stable lineup comprising vocalist/rhythm guitarist Jeremy Fisher, vocalist/Bassist Todd Tolls, drummer Bonz and lead guitarist Ian Woodward, Mighty Big Word began their musical oeuvre with the EP "The Whole World's Asleep" in 2010; they are currently working on a follow-up full length album for early 2013.
Based in Toronto, Goldenballs plays rock n roll. The Band features members: Duncan McRae - Guitar / vocals, Scott Megginson - Guitar, Paul Mitchell - Bass, Matt Webster - Drums
There is no cover and the show starts at 9pm.
