This Thursday September 29th, the Linsmore Tavern (1298 Danforth Ave) is excited to welcome a night for the true songwriter fans out there, as we welcome for the very first time, The Kelly Song Collective who will be performing the brilliant music of Townes Van Zandt! Steve Earle famously once said, "Townes Van Zandt is the best songwriter in the world and I'll stand on Bob Dylan's coffee table in my cowboy boots and say that." The Kelly Song Collective agrees. Top notch songwriters in their own right, Toronto brothers, John and Joe Kelly walk on hallowed ground (aka Texas dirt), as the Linsmore Tavern is proud to present The Kelly Song Collective performing the songs of Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, Steve Earle and more. Tortured, beguiling, brilliant. You need to hear these songs. 'Mama don't you worry, night's approachin'. There's a hole in heaven where some sin slips through. Just close your eyes and dream real steady maybe just a little will spill on you.' -Cowboy Junkies Lament, Townes Van Zandt.
