Avalon's Garden ft. Owen Barney

Thursday May 24th, the Linsmore Tavern is very excited to welcome some fantastic Indie Acts ready to put on a show for you, as we are welcoming for the very first time Avalon's Garden with opening act Owen Barney! Avalon's Garden is a very unique band who create music for a great cause. Avalon's Garden is a band that creates music that speaks of mental health; the struggles, the strife, the ups, the downs, and everything in between. With indie/folk/campfire songs and a jazz influence, they are here to start the conversation and promote awareness. Owen Barney is a very talented musician who is fresh off recording an album in Nashville and is known for his live show. The show starts at 7pm, there's no cover!

Avalon's Garden writes music about what its like to live with mental illnesses with focuses on depression, anxiety, panic disorder, and PTSD. Bandleader, Megan Vivares, has been living with mental illness for some time now. At times, the stigma of mental illness can be unbelievably overwhelming. Due to a lack of popular tunes that she felt like she could relate to, she decided to create some. By using catchy progressions and ear worms to hook listeners, Megan weaves in lyrics that sit in the back of your brain. The lyrics are honest and serve as a reminder to all those suffering. You are not alone.
