I Will Be King: Paying Tribute To The Genius of David Bowie Returns to the Linsmore!

The Linsmore Tavern is can't to bring back one of the most popular bands to play the Linsmore Tavern, I Will Be King: Paying Tribute To The Genius of David Bowie! I Will Be King have played three outstanding SOLD-OUT shows at the Linsmore Tavern and we are thrilled to have they come back! They had such an overwhelming response from their last 3 shows, that we have to bring them back for another one! There are a few Bowie Tributes out there, but none of them stand up to I Will Be King! Let's face the facts, David Bowie is one of the most influential artist's who has ever lived and he is a musical genius! This almost all-female 6 piece band will definitely deliver the goods of the music of David Bowie and if you are a fan of Bowie, do not miss this show! There really is no David Bowie Tribute out there, like them!

There are few Artists that have influenced so many aspects of pop culture than David Bowie, in style, fashion, musicality, performance and both genre and gender bending.

STILETTO FLATS began planning a very special tribute to David Bowie at the beginning of 2015. They had no idea that he would pass in 2016 (indeed, Bowie seemed to have an ethereal personality that would keep him with us for years to come).

With his death, the Flats have taken very special measures to present the best Bowie tribute possible, recognizing that there are few or no female-centric bands that would dare to undertake this. They present you, I Will Be King: Paying Tribute To The Genius of David Bowie!

The Band Features:

Elana Harte, vocals, guitar
Lucio Agostini, backs, guitar
Janet Whiteway, backs, keyboards
Jen Benton, bass
Robyn McDonald, drums
Jennifer Brewer, percs, backs

Tickets for this amazing show are now on sale and are only $7 in advance, $10 at the door! You can purchase your tickets at the Linsmore Tavern or right here: BUY TICKETS!!

- Pat Blythe, Don't Believe a Word I Say

"Although they declare being influenced by Brit-Pop bands such Oasis, Arctic Monkeys and The Jam, Blackdog Ballroom strive to make a sound of their own while demonstrating Stanfield’s songwriting prowess."

Sixty Cycle Hum Rocks the Linsmore Tavern!

Thursday November 9, the Linsmore Tavern is extremely excited to welcome back Sixty Cycle Hum for an evening of some great rock covers!  Sixty Cycle Hum, have played some fantastic shows over the years and we are always looking forward to having them back and performing some really fun evening of rock covers! This is going to be a fantastic night!

Sixty Cycle Hum was started by three kids from Kingston in the early 90's. The trio gigged around Ontario and opened for acts coming through Kingston at AJ's Hanger, Stages, Muldoon's and other venues through the 90's. Steve, Mike and Tim were known as a Queen's band and continued to play campus bars before moving to Toronto. Over the past decade they have played off and on at corporate events and bars in and around Toronto. Recently they have amped up playing encouraged by their adoration of Can Con like the Tragically Hip and 54-40.

Influenced by the Hip, Petty, U2, the Stones, Oasis and many other classic rock icons, the band seeks to entertain... whether it's dabbling in 50's rock by request, or allowing for the odd crowd based "guest singer", they will ensure everyone watching has a great time and is part of the evening.

Come out and hear the best of The Tragically Hip, 54-40, U2, the Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Oasis, and many many more... including some of their own written when their lives were simple!

The show starts at 8:30pm, there's no cover, so come check out this excellent local band who will rock you!
