Featuring songwriter and vocalist Kevin Jollimore and guitarist Gerard Popma, The Sin City Boys have received excellent reviews for their live show, "They play a selection of strong, simple and effective songs that threaten to put the excitement back into barroom rock." according to Performer Magazine. The Sin City Boys are fleshed out by Anthony Amodeo on bass guiatr and Glenn Kimberley on drums.

Danforth Blues Band Live!

Thursday August 6th the Linsmore Tavern (1298 Danforth Ave) is welcoming a band and there couldn't be a more fitting name for a band then The Danforth Blues Band! These guys are a real seasoned band of incredible musicians who know how to play the Blues! You will absolutely love this local band who call the Danforth their home! No Cover, the show starts at 8pm!

A couple of years ago, during a neighbourhood BBQ (in the Danforth & Coxwell area of Toronto), a few guys realized they had a common link - besides being old – they had played in bar bands during their much younger days. This led them to dust off their “tools of the trade” and regularly get together over a pint (cleverly disguised as jam sessions).

This evolved over time, into a core group of 5 members who enjoy playing songs based on “traditional' blues” arrangements. The geography of the band’s origin & primary musical preference accounts for the band’s name, although renaming it continues to be a favourite post-jam past time to this day.

The band members are; Renzo Cincinnato - lead vocals, Ron Winn – harp & vocals, Lou Fata – drums, vocals & band manager (drew the short straw), Dave Scheel - bass and Patrick Alleyne - lead guitar.

The show starts at 8pm and there is no cover! Come support some amazing local talent and some great blues!

Imitation of Life: A Tribute to REM

The Linsmore Tavern is bringing back another Tribute night to kick off the month of August!  Saturday, August 1st we are so excited to welcome for the first time ever, Imitation of Live: A Tribute To REM!  Usually we sell tickets for Tribute bands, however this Saturday night, just show up to the door as there will be just a $5 cover!

Imitation of Life is Canada's best REM Tribute Band and have many followers on Facebook, Twitter and Reverb Nation from around the world. In fact, when the band posted their version of R.E.M.'s most popular hit, “Losing My Religion”, on Reverb Nation, the song went to number 1 on the local alternative charts. The song stayed at number 1 for three weeks. IMITATION OF LIFE has seen very positive and immediate recognition, largely because of the band's attention to detail in recreating R.E.M.'s songs; everyone who sees and hears the band comments on how much the band sounds and performs like R.E.M. They play the hits like “Man on the Moon”, “Stand”, “Shiny Happy People”, “Losing My Religion”, “Drive”, “It's the End of the World As We Know It” and many more.

Imitation of Life will play all of the hits that made REM one of the world's most popular bands from a career that spans from the 80's to today!  They will also throw in some fun songs from bands such as The Black Keys, Jimmy Eat World, Gin Blossoms and Jack White, as well as some throwbacks from The Stones, Beatles, Elvis, The Monkees, C.C.R, The Ramones and more.  The show starts at 9:30pm, $5 cover at the door!
